Ik ben vorige maand (halverwege Mei 2020) begonnen met het staken van Tezos bij kraken.com. Het was me niet helemaal duidelijk hoe de rewards (je 6% rendement) nou precies uitbetaald werd. Door een ticket in te schieten in hun supportafdeling van de website heb ik de volgende vraag gesteld aan de hand van mijn staking gedrag. Ik laat elke dag 15 euro storten op kraken die ik dan vervolgens omzet naar Tezos (XTZ) als de prijs het gunstigst is. Meestal is dit tussen de 5 en 7 Tezos per dag. De winsten die ik pak met het long traden op Bitcoin of Ethereum zet ik ook om in Tezos.

Which was 3/4 days earlier when less XTZ was staked.
I buy for 15 euro on a daily basis and then I stake it on top. Is this partially killing my staking rewards?

Hi Paul,
My name is Jen, I’m with Kraken’s Staking department.
Staking pays out twice a week on Monday, and Thursday, at approximately 14:00 UTC. Please note that Tezos staking pays out at 6% a year, and the two staking payouts are not equally spaced. The Monday payout is for 4 days, where the Thursday payout is for 3 days. This means the Thursday payout will be lower than Monday’s, on the same amount of Staked funds.
If you’d like to calculate the expected return, 6% per year is equivalent to 0.0164383% per day. So for the 3-day reward you should receive (0.0004931) * Your total staked amount, and the 4-day reward (Monday) you should receive (0.0006575) * Your total staked amount.
Also keep in mind, that the reward is calculated based on how long the funds were Staked, so if you Staked the reward a day before the payout, you would only receive one day’s-worth of payout.
For example, estimating your payout on June 11’th for a 3-day payout. Your staked balance was 301.886860 + 7.200017 + 5.899008 + 100.000000, where only the 301.886860 was there the entire 3 days. (0.0004931)*301.886860 = 0.14886, plus 0.016 for the day the 100 Tezos was staked = 0.1648, which is about what you received for the reward that day. There would be a bit extra for the 12 Tezos as well.
